Meet your Mediator

Jay M Bultz is an Attorney, Mediator and Arbitrator practicing as Bultz Law Offices, PA which offers legal services in the areas of litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Although his work has covered most areas of the law, he currently practices primarily in family law focusing on divorce mediation.

He is a licensed attorney in the State of South Carolina in both state and federal courts. He has been certified through the South Carolina Supreme Court as a mediator in the family and circuit courts and as an arbitrator in circuit court. He is also certified through the United States District Court - District of South Carolina, as a mediator in federal court and through the Council of Better Business Bureaus as an arbitrator in the BBB Auto Line Program.

He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, an Advanced Practitioner Member of the Academy of Professional Mediators, a Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, and a Member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.

Mr. Bultz received a Juris Doctorate Degree, 1984, from the Loyola University School of Law, New Orleans, Louisiana, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism, 1976, from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina, and a Diploma, 1972, from the Myrtle Beach High School, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He is past Chairman of the Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation which most notably was instrumental in the design, construction and completion of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, and is past President of the Myrtle Beach Downtown Public Art Initiative, dedicated to the implementation of a public art program for Myrtle Beach which most notably is responsible for the creation and installation of the “Goddess of the Sea” statue in Plyler Park, downtown Myrtle Beach.

Mr. Bultz has taught and lectured numerous times on subjects in family law and alternative dispute resolution through the local community college, the state bar association continuing legal education, and national conferences. He is the author of the book, “The Master Agreement for Separation and Divorce, Third Edition” published by the South Carolina Bar and author of the chapter on “Alternative Dispute Resolution” in The Law School For Non-lawyers Textbook,  a course  of legal study sponsored by the South Carolina Bar.
